Adverb Addiction

"The road to hell is paved with adverbs," wrote Stephen King.

However, Dr. Wright is not of the Stephen King tribe, where he purgatorily damns them as an overall practice. Although adverbs have been called 'extraordinarily lazy writing,' Dr. Wright feels there is a middle ground, and favorably asserts that although one can be addicted, he can help the writer cut back gradually so that adverbs are merely a seasoning, rather than the meal.

"Many writers write happily along, not realizing they unknowingly create a pathway of adverbs that should be made primarily of verbs. I can help effectively."  --Dr. Julian Wright
