Editing Aversion Syndrome (EAS®)

EAS affects many beginning writers or writer's suffering from chronic arrogance or Delusional Grandeur Syndrome®. Many writers want to emulate Anne Rice and will only edit their own work.

Dr. Wright believes that having a good line and content editor is the only way a writer will create the best end product, but many writers have a strong aversion to editing. Dr. Wright helps the writer see the editor as his friend, even though he or she wields the red pen of death. He prepares writers for the real world of publishing, and helps them get ready to "murder their darlings."

"First thought best thought? No. 'First thought' is the stew meat. Editing creates the stew."—Dr. Julian Wright
